These instructions will illustrate how to remove the rear view mirror from most recent generation BMW cars that are prone to mirror failure. The only tool required will be a thin flat head screwdriver or pry tool.

First remove the black plastic shell that encloses the mirror bracket. The cover has several plastic clips that snap together. Push down on the right hand side of the cover near the seam and gently pry it apart with the screwdriver.
